Backend Engineer — OSINT Platform & APIs
You will keep our OSINT platform running reliably, improve its architecture and bring new intelligence capabilities into production.
Anon AI Labs, the company behind Serus. Location: San Francisco or New York. Exceptional candidates elsewhere considered.
About us
Serus helps people investigate their digital exposure and take action to protect themselves. Our live product serves paying consumers and businesses. We’re developing a personal AI agent that works continuously on the user’s behalf, powered by our own OSINT engine.
We’re hiring a backend engineer to own the reliability and development of that engine and its APIs.
The role
You’ll work closely with our OSINT development team to integrate new sources and collection methods. You will also contribute to the wider backend when the team needs your expertise.
What you’ll do
- Own the operation, maintenance and improvement of our OSINT engine and APIs.
- Monitor availability, investigate failures and resolve production issues.
- Build reliable integrations with external sources and services.
- Implement collection methods and capabilities developed with our OSINT engineers.
- Improve performance, data processing, caching and background jobs.
- Handle unreliable dependencies, changing source formats and partial failures.
- Strengthen testing, monitoring and deployment processes.
- Support other backend projects across Serus.
What we’re looking for
- Strong backend engineering experience and ownership of production systems.
- Experience building APIs, integrations and data-processing services.
- Confidence working with databases, queues and asynchronous workloads.
- The ability to diagnose problems across your code and external dependencies.
- Practical judgment about reliability, maintainability and delivery.
- Experience with OSINT infrastructure, search, crawling or data aggregation is particularly relevant.
