How to opt out of Aidentified

  1. 1

    Open Delete My Data

Go to Delete My Data. The link is also in the site footer. Aidentified's Virginia privacy rights page says it is for asking for your data to be deleted or to opt out of sale, marketing and processing.

  2. 2

    Give enough to find you

Aidentified says you must provide certain information so it can identify you in its system.

  3. 3

    Or email

    Write to privacy@aidentified.com.

  4. 4

    Or send a letter

Aidentified's California registry entry lists 33 Bradford Street, Concord, MA 01742, Attn: Privacy.

Watch out for

  • Virginia law gives a right to delete with exceptions, and Aidentified's page says so.
  • Aidentified says it can only act on a request once it can identify you in its system.

Your rights

California: CCPA. If you live in California, the CCPA lets you ask a business to delete the personal information it holds about you and to stop selling or sharing it. Businesses generally have 45 days to respond.

California: the Delete Act. Data brokers that hold information on Californians must register with the state. California residents can use DROP, the state's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform, to send one deletion request to every registered broker at once.

Other US states. Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon and a growing list of other states give residents a similar right to delete. Vermont, Texas and Oregon also make data brokers register with the state. Where no state law applies, the broker's own opt-out above still works for most people.
