How to remove yourself from Argyle
Argyle, which connects income and employment data, takes deletion requests through a form at argyle.com/delete-data-request or by email to privacy@argyle.com, and lets you delete data yourself in its portal, Argyle Passport. Deletion is permanent. Data already sent to a partner stays there.
On average, Serus sends about 184 removal requests per person, 89% of them to data brokers, so expect Argyle to be one of many.

Watch out for
- Deletion is not reversible and permanently deletes the requested data from Argyle's systems.

- Connect an account again later and Argyle gets data about you again.
- Argyle may not fulfill a request where it or its service providers must retain the data.

Argyle says that if you connect an account again, it obtains data about you again for that connection.
Your rights
Argyle publishes a CCPA notice and says it will honor deletion requests unless it must retain the data.
California: CCPA. If you live in California, the CCPA lets you ask a business to delete the personal information it holds about you and to stop selling or sharing it. Businesses generally have 45 days to respond.
California: the Delete Act. Data brokers that hold information on Californians must register with the state. California residents can use DROP, the state's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform, to send one deletion request to every registered broker at once.
Other US states. Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon and a growing list of other states give residents a similar right to delete. Vermont, Texas and Oregon also make data brokers register with the state. Where no state law applies, the broker's own opt-out above still works for most people.
