How to remove yourself from Cision
Cision runs a media-contact database. Its privacy policy points to an online data subject request, privacy@cision.com, and a toll-free line, 877-297-8921, for California opt-outs. Journalists and other influencers can ask to be removed from the database by email.
On average, Serus sends about 184 removal requests per person, 89% of them to data brokers, so expect Cision to be one of many.

How to opt out of Cision
- 1
Decide which request fits
Cision's privacy policy has a Data Subject Request route for general requests, and a separate notice for journalists and other influencers listed in its media database.
- 2
Submit the online request
Use the Data Subject Request link in the Cision privacy policy. California's data broker registry lists the same portal as Cision's rights page.
- 3
Or email privacy@cision.com
The policy says opt-out rights can be exercised by emailing privacy@cision.com. The media database notice says the same address handles removal and objections to profiling.
- 4
Or call
California residents can call 877-297-8921, the toll-free number the policy gives for Do Not Sell requests.
Watch out for
- If your data was uploaded by a Cision customer, Cision may act as a processor for it, and the request may need to go to that customer.
- Cision's help center describes platform opt-outs that stop emails from one customer's data group. Those are not the same as removal from the database.

Yes. The privacy policy lists 877-297-8921 for California Do Not Sell requests.
