How to remove yourself from ID5
ID5 builds an advertising identifier. It says you can opt out through its Privacy Preference Center, which stores an opt-out cookie in your browser, and that it honors the Global Privacy Control signal as an opt-out of sale or sharing.
On average, Serus sends about 184 removal requests per person, 89% of them to data brokers, so expect ID5 to be one of many.

How to opt out of ID5
- 1
Read ID5's cookie policy
It explains how to reach the Privacy Preference Center.
- 2
Opt out in the Privacy Preference Center
ID5 says this places an opt-out cookie in your browser.
- 3
Turn on Global Privacy Control
ID5 says it treats GPC as a valid opt-out of sale or sharing. Enable it in a browser or extension that supports it.
- 4
Email privacy@id5.io
The address ID5 gives for its Data Protection Officer, for anything the settings page doesn't cover.
Watch out for
- The opt-out is a cookie. Clearing cookies or switching browser removes it, so repeat it on each browser or turn on GPC, which travels with the browser.

Your rights
California: CCPA. If you live in California, the CCPA lets you ask a business to delete the personal information it holds about you and to stop selling or sharing it. Businesses generally have 45 days to respond.
California: the Delete Act. Data brokers that hold information on Californians must register with the state. California residents can use DROP, the state's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform, to send one deletion request to every registered broker at once.
Other US states. Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon and a growing list of other states give residents a similar right to delete. Vermont, Texas and Oregon also make data brokers register with the state. Where no state law applies, the broker's own opt-out above still works for most people.
