How to remove yourself from Experian
Experian takes opt-outs of sale, targeted advertising and sensitive-data use through consumerprivacy.experian.com, by phone at 1-833-210-4615, by email to optout@experian.com or by mail to PO Box 703, Allen, TX 75013. This is not a credit freeze.
On average, Serus sends about 184 removal requests per person, 89% of them to data brokers, so expect Experian to be one of many.

How to opt out of Experian
- 1
Pick a route
Experian's U.S. privacy notice lists four: the portal at consumerprivacy.experian.com, the phone line 1-833-210-4615, optout@experian.com, or PO Box 703, Allen, TX 75013.
- 2
Choose what to opt out of
Experian's page lets you opt out of the sale of your personal information, targeted advertising, and use of sensitive information.
- 3
Stop prescreened offers separately
Experian points to 888-5-OPTOUT (888-567-8688) or OptOutPrescreen.com. One request covers all four bureaus' lists, per Experian.
- 4
Send a Global Privacy Control signal if your state recognizes it
The notice says in certain states a browser signal such as GPC counts as an opt-out.
Watch out for
- The targeted advertising opt-out only stops ads that use Experian's marketing data, and Experian says to repeat it every 5 years for each internet-enabled device.
- Opting out doesn't remove data from third parties Experian has already shared it with.
- This doesn't touch your credit report or file.
