Watch out for
- Rhetorik and Lightcast run separate request forms. If you're not sure which company holds your data, use both.
- An older Rhetorik policy named privacy@rhetorik.com. The current policy sends requests to the form. It also says Rhetorik does not sell or share this information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

California: the Delete Act. Data brokers that hold information on Californians must register with the state. California residents can use DROP, the state's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform, to send one deletion request to every registered broker at once.
Other US states. Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon and a growing list of other states give residents a similar right to delete. Vermont, Texas and Oregon also make data brokers register with the state. Where no state law applies, the broker's own opt-out above still works for most people.

European Union: GDPR. You have the right to have your personal data erased and to object to its use for direct marketing. Companies must respond within one month, and you can complain to your national data protection authority if they don't.
